3.1) Introduction
Your pages work great, you have implemented some new HTML codes, such as tables, frames or backgrounds. But know, as time goes by, you want to provide some more fancy things to your customers or you want to make things easier for you.
There are several fancy things you could implement and some useful programs you could use. Some examples may be RealAudio that lets your visitors listen in real time to music or your speech, a clickable map that is a graphical image where visitors can click on some points, which are linked to other pages or a mail program that sends you the input of a visitor who filled out a form at your site.
You have two options: Create your own scripts or download scripts from any site and install them onto our server or ask us to create them for you. Our prices are very attractive and reasonable and many clients found out that they could save time and hassle by asking us to create scripts for them. Our team of programmers, graphic designers, HTML authors and translators will do every effort to make you satisfied. If you like to see some examples of our work, you might have a look at some scripts we created for our customers. Check also out our Webservice - Site
One example is a password script we created for Paradigm Communications. When you purchase a novel there, you will be provided a password. With this password you can go to the "checkout page" and insert the password, which will provide a link to the novel you requested. Then you can download the novel. All this is fully automatical !
Another script might be a simple guestbook.
You may start with small programs, such as "wusage" to count your accesses or "cgiemail" to send you the content of a form that your customers filled in. Even a guestbook might be something fancy that enhances your site.
Ask us for our VERY low prices to set up these scripts for you! Send mail to support@mercator.net for rates.
3.2) Other tings to implement are multimedia and graphical options that are supported by our server.
3.2.1) RealAudio
is a real time audio transmission/player system. A digital audio stream is transmitted from the server over the internet to the destination and played immediately, rather than being stored to disk first and then played.
Each audio clip requires two files: a metafile with extension .ram, and the digital audio clip itself, with extension .ra. The .ram file holds one or more lines of ASCII text, each of which references the .ra file to be played when the .ram file is accessed by the browser.
Entries in .ram files have the form:
pnm://your-domain.com/rafiles/your-domain/name-of-clip.ra
Place your .ram and .ra files in the realaudio subdirectory under your web directory. Contact support@mercator.net if you have not been supplied with the realaudio subdirectory.
.ram files must be uploaded in ASCII mode while .ra files must be uploaded in BINARY mode.
You may then access these files at realaudio/file.ram under your www directory.
3.2.2) TRUESPEECH DIGITAL AUDIO
The TrueSpeech Digital Audio Player for the Internet offers the highest-quality, low-bandwidth (8.5 kbps) internet audio available today, with real-time, streaming audio playback over the Internet, and the ability to store and listen to your favorite sites directly from the Player without needing to first launch your browser

3.2.5) FRACTAL VIEWER BY ITERATED SYSTEMS
Fractal Viewer enables the inline use of fractal images on the Web. Iterated's Fractal Image Format provides a means of representing digitized photographs and other bitmap images in a highly compressed and resolution-independent form. This plug-in offers Web authors many options for presenting true-color images. For example, a single fractal file on a Web server can be viewed as a full-screen picture or as a thumbnail representation. Image maps are supported in both NCSA and CERN formats. Users can zoom, stretch, flip, and rotate images, and set preferences that specify how much detail of an image should be received by default.
3.2.6) TOOLVOX BY VOXWARE
Toolvox by Voxware adds high-quality speech audio to your Web pages. With ToolVox, it's as easy as embedding a graphic: Your existing HTTP server can stream audio. ToolVox delivers 53:1 compression ratios -more than three times smaller than first-generation real-time Internet voice products.
3.2.7) VRML (virtual reality modeling language)
Web pages are just that: pages -- two-dimensional text and graphics. VRML is about changing all that. To quote the VRML Repository, "VRML is a standard language for describing interactive three-dimensional scenes delivered across the internet." They use "describing" in the technical sense: if you point a VRML browser (or a Web browser with a VRML plug-in or helper) at a file containing VRML "descriptions" of a scene, it'll render that scene for you in 3D and let you move around in it and examine it from all sides and angles. More in a minute about where you can get one of those browsers so you can try this for yourself. VRML allows for the creation of virtual worlds with limited interactive behavior. These worlds can contain objects which have hyperlinks to other worlds, HTML documents or other valid MIME types. When the user selects an object with a hyperlink, the appropriate MIME viewer is launched. When the user selects a link to a VRML document from within a correctly configured WWW browser, a VRML viewer is launched. Thus VRML viewers are the perfect companion applications to standard WWW browsers for navigating and visualizing the Web.
