TELNET
Telnet (along with FTP) has been around since the beginnings of the Net. It provides the most basic kind of computer connectivity: It lets you sit at one computer and use another computer somewhere out there on the Net, just as if you were sitting in front of that other computer. More accurately, as if you were using an old-fashioned command-line terminal directly connected to that computer.
Telnet for the MAC
If you use Windows95, you can just put in your browser`s location (Netscape, e.g.) the telnet location, for example: telnet://mercator.net and your Win95 telnet program will open itself.

EUDORA LIGHT
Eudora is an electronic mail program that runs right on your microcomputer. Eudora, which is available for Intel-based systems or Macintoshes, uses "Post Office Protocol" (POP). This means that you can compose and read messages right on your microcomputer using familiar word processor-like facilities like cut and paste, and you can easily attach documents to your messages. A host computer on the network -- Moose, in fact -- serves as a post office, handling your incoming and outgoing mail.
Like most other mail software, Eudora lets you send and receive mail, and use simple nicknames instead of full e-mailaddresses -- and in addition, it is free .Special features include access to the University's directory of e-mail addresses andphone numbers.
