Russia: changes to obtaining a Qualified Electronic Signature
The Federal Tax Service of Russia (FTS of Russia) has announced that, from 1 July, 2021, in order to transition from a paid to a free of charge public service for electronic signature issuing, all legal entities and individual entrepreneurs will be able to obtain a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) from the Certification Center of the Russian Federal Tax Service (CC of FTS Russia).
However, The FTS of Russia has also published a list of limitations on the availability of the QES applicable in certain circumstances.
