The Colombian Tax Authority extends the deadline to register Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBO)
On the 27th of December 2021, DIAN (the Colombian Tax Authority) issued Resolution No. 164, establishing amongst other things the Single Ultimate Beneficial Owners Registry (RUB), the criteria for identification of UBO and the reporting procedures.
Following the update of the original resolution adopted in March 2022, the deadline to report UBO moves from the 30th of September to the 31th of December 2022 for legal entities and structures without legal status incorporated before the 15th of January 2022.
For entities established after the 15th of January 2022, the deadline remains unchanged: UBO registration is required within 2 months after the registration of an entity with the relevant authority.
